Nicasio Valley and a favorite amongst many of the ride leaders. We start off by heading north through Fairfax following the same route as the Lagunitas ride we did two weeks ago. On the other side of White’s Hill we’re going to turn right just after the San Geronimo golf course heading towards Nicasio. This road is just spectacular. It’s about 7 miles long, fairly flat, and hugs a reservoir.
At the end of the road we go left, staying by the reservoir. We go through a stop sign by a bridge (signposted towards Olema) and then a mile or two beyond there is a tricky bit. Every year someone gets totally lost in this section. What we are planning to do is get on the bike path that goes through Samuel Taylor Park, however the entrance is difficult to find it’s about 20 yards before the T junction on the right. If you miss it, go left at the T as they all join up eventually.
The bike path brings us out near Lagunitas after which we follow the same route back through Fairfax to the city.
